Tip #10 Never Stop Learning

Good Morning! I hope you’re having a fantastic week! Can you believe we are already 10 days into March and 10 days in to our #loveme2Peace Campaign? I hope that you’re enjoying the content, taking notes and making the necessary adjustments in your life.  After all, you only have one life to live, this isn’t a dress rehearsal so you might as well experience as much peace and serenity as you can.

How many of you have heard the phrase, “you win some and you lose some?” We all face challenges in life and sometimes things don’t work out like we planned. If we search deep enough, we can find a lesson in every challenge. Instead of thinking of it as a loss, think of it as a lesson. I saw this great post on Facebook that breaks it down like this:

“If you fail, never give up because F.A.I.L means “First Attempt In Learning.”

End is not the end. In fact, E.N.D. means “EFFORT NEVER DIES”

If you get NO as an answer, remember NO means “NEXT OPPORTUNITY”

All of this brings me today’s tip: “Never Stop Learning”

Use every opportunity to stretch yourself by searching for the lessons in your challenges.

Tip #8 Live Your Life

Good Morning! It’s Day 8 of our #loveme2Peace Campaign and things are going great. Hopefully by now you’re getting an idea of how this movement works. We all have the ability to attract more peace into our lives, sometimes you just need to make a few adjustments. I’m big on self-reflection and making the necessary changes for myself and my surroundings. It’s called creating a Standard. Once you set the standard for what you want to manifest in your life and then get clear about it, everything else has no choice but to line up accordingly.

Let’s do a quick recap of the last 7 days before we jump into today’s tip:

  1. Start each day with gratitude
  2. Believe that You are Qualified
  3. Don’t be Afraid to Dream Big
  4. Don’t be Afraid to Ask for Help
  5. Take Time to Relax
  6. Set Your Heart Toward Peace
  7. Share Your Story

Today’s tip: Live Your Life”

Are you living life or is life living you?

Are you stuck in a constant cycle that consists of words such as: do, go, get, achieve, buy and work, without any balance words such as: enjoy, relax, experience, and receive. If so you may be guilty of allowing life and all of the pressures associated with it, to get the best of you.

You start with good intentions of wanting to achieve more in life. Things like, going back to school, climbing the corporate ladder, moving into nicer neighborhood, all those things are great but while you’re striving, are you enjoying the process. Are you making time each day to enjoy the people and the things that make you happy? If not, you still have time. Schedule a few hours each day to focus on things that you enjoy.

Once you create a little balance in your life, Peace will follow!

Tip #7 Share Your Story

Good Morning Peace Makers! It is day 7 of our #loveme2Peace Campaign and we’re just getting started. All month long I’m sharing tips and advice on how you can attract more peace into your life by practicing self-love and self-care.

March is International Women’s Month and we’re making history by challenging women all around the world to take care of themselves by setting their intentions toward peace. Some days may be more difficult than others to seek peace but I promise you that your efforts will be rewarded. Once you’ve mastered these techniques, you can mentor the next woman who may be struggling in this area of her life. I believe that we all hold the key or the solution to someone else’s challenge. We have to be willing to share our experiences with others to help them along their journey. I often tell my clients; your 2015 testimony is someone else’s 2016 goal. Speak up and share!

With that being said; today’s tip:   “Share Your Story”

There’s freedom, power and peace in sharing your experiences with others. As individuals we’re always either going into a challenge, in the midst of a challenge or coming out of one. No matter where we are in the process, our experiences can help others succeed.

I’ve been invited to be an Ambassador for the American Cancer Society. This title presents opportunities for me to share my story on a larger platform. Knowing that what I’ve experienced is going to benefit others and offer encouragement to someone else makes it all worth while.

How do I know this?

I know because God is not a waster. He is able to use anyone, under any circumstances, for his Glory!

Tip #6 Set Your Heart Toward Peace

Good Morning Peace Seekers! Day 6 of our #loveme2peace campaign and I am so excited about the wonderful feedback that I’ve been receiving. Thank you all for reading the posts, being engaged and sharing the content with your family and friends. By the time we finish this campaign you will have a huge PEACEBOOK to refer to for proven strategies and techniques on attracting more peace into your life.

Today I want to focus on the following scripture: 1 Kings 8:18 “However, the Lord said to my father David, since you had your heart set on building a temple for my name, your intentions were good.”

Today’s tip: “Set your heart toward Peace.” In order to create peace your intentions have to be peaceful. In other words, your thoughts, deeds and actions have to be founded on things that are good and pleasing in God’s eyes. You can’t intentionally do wrong to others or have malicious thoughts and expect your life to be blessed. Life doesn’t work that way. Start each day of the week with positive affirmations and prayer and then make it a priority to seek peace in every encounter that you have.

Tip #5 Take Time to Relax

Good Morning Peace Seekers! Happy Saturday to you all. What’s on your agenda for today? Do you have big plans for your weekend?

Saturday’s around my house are either really busy or extremely laid back and easy. Today I am hoping for a laid back, easy kind of day. I like to call these days “rejuvenation days.” We all need those days to relax and dump everything from our work week. If you’re fortunate enough to have your Saturday off, take time to relax, relate and release all your cares and concerns. Focus on peace and renewed strength. Saturday’s are also a great time to create your peace strategy for the next week. It’s simple to do, just find a few scriptures and quotes that speak directly to you and then write down one or two thoughts about what each one means to you. Your peace strategy is a great way to state your intentions for each day and an awesome way to love yourself to peace! However you decide to spend your day, be sure to honor yourself by doing things that bring you peace! My tip for today:

“Take Time To Relax.”

Relaxation plays a huge part in establishing peace in your life. I’m going to keep today’s post short so I can get back to my day of rejuvenation. I challenge you to do the same. #loveme2peace

Tip #4 Don’t Be Afraid to Ask For Help

Good Morning Peace Seekers and Happy Friday!

We are rolling right along into Day 4 of our #loveme2Peace campaign. Thank you to everyone that has commented or liked the posts so far. I greatly appreciate your support of this blog. My goal is to provide you with relevant tips and advice to help you in your journey of self- love and self-care.

So yesterday I did something totally out of character for me.

I asked for help.

My schedule was packed, my mind was on overload and my body was exhausted. I picked up the phone, called a friend and I asked for help. This may sound simple to you but for me, this is HUGE!

Every morning I make a list, I check it twice and I keep checking it until everything has been completed. In my mind, lists help me stay focused and on task. My only problem is that I tend to overdo it. I don’t heed the warnings of mental exhaustion and broken concentration. I keep going. For me to phone a friend and ask for help was awesome and a bit liberating.

I’m learning that I don’t have to be all and do all to be successful. Life is not a race; it’s a journey that is meant to be enjoyed and shared with those who care about you. With that said, my tip for today is:

Tip #4 Don’t Be Afraid To Ask For Help

There is peace, love and support in asking for help. When you allow others to support you in your journey, you’re not only helping yourself, you’re helping them as well. While you’re learning to give up control and collaborate, they are learning the power of being a friend and supporter. We learn to nurture one another by actually doing it!  As we enter into the weekend, find time to ask someone for help. Keep it simple, we don’t want to stress anyone out.

It’s astonishing how many people are willing to support you if they are given the opportunity.

Support and Encouragement Quote

In this moment I would like to thank the following female small business owners for supporting SUGA Wellness Boutique. Tonya M. Cross of Accented Glory and The Vine Event Planning. Keisha Roberts of Keisha Roberts Ministries and Erica Allen of Executive Healthcare. These ladies are doing phenomenal things in their business and they’ve been a great support to me.

Your homework for this weekend is to ask for help.

Tip #3 Don’t Be Afraid to Dream Big

Welcome to day three of our #loveme2Peace Campaign. I hope that you are finding these tips helpful and easy to incorporate into your daily thought process. I am a firm believer that having a focused and organized state of mind is the beginning of creating peace and being empowered. Finding peace is a process. You have to be focused and intentional, determined and motivated to make it happen. Even after you incorporate all of those things, you have to go a step further and trust God. Things will never appear to be perfect but if you trust the process, it will eventually work out for you. My tip for you today is:

“Don’t be afraid to dream big”

Before leaving Corporate America, I was often asked to create presentations and manuals because my peers loved how I incorporated color into a mundane, ho-hum training guide. They often praised my work and would ask, how do you bring such boring material to life? My reply, “I dream in color.”

I love to think big and creatively solve problems.

It’s much like this in our everyday dealings. Oftentimes we think extremely small and ask God to work a miracle on the simple things that we have the power and ability to do on our own. He’s already Qualified us to handle certain situations, and he wants us to depend on him for those supernatural blessings. I’ve come to realize that the bigger I dream, the bigger that God will show up in my life.

In Isaiah 55:8-9, the Lord declares, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Do yourself a huge favor and allow the thoughts and ways of God to work on your behalf. All it takes is the ability to dream bigger and the determinate to trust that God cannot fail.

Trust is a huge part of self-love and self-care. If we want to benefit from all the amazing things that God has in store for us, we gotta dream big!

My prayer for you Peace Seeker is that you gain the confidence to dream big!

I would love to get your feedback on the #loveme2Peace Campaign. Is this beneficial for you? Hit me up at sugawellnessboutique@gmail.com and let me know your thoughts.

Tip #2 Believe that you Are Qualified

Peace Seekers! I’m so excited about Day 2 of our #loveme2Peace campaign. Remember, I’ll be posting tips and advice all month long on how you can incorporate self-love and self-care into your daily routine, in an effort to love yourself to a peaceful state of mind. I am a witness that mental clarity and spiritual wellness are the keys to a successful and peaceful life. Yesterday, I took time out of my super busy schedule to have my first ever hot stone massage. Man oh man, was it a treat! I had a chance to dump all of my thoughts, cares and concerns and I actually felt stress and tension leaving my body. If you’ve never had one, you should definitely think about trying it out.

Hopefully you remembered to begin your day with a prayer of gratitude and seal it with a scripture or a meaningful quote. I love to thank God in advance for new opportunities and that is how I begin most of my days. I’m always amazed at how God chooses to use me. He often blesses me with opportunities that I feel inadequate about or unsure of. In times like this I have to remember that if God says I’m qualified, then I am Qualified. That leads me to today’s tip which is:

                                                     “Believe that you are qualified.”

If God didn’t think you could handle it, he wouldn’t have chosen you. The Lord has access to every person on this earth but there are unique situations that only you are qualified to handle. Yes you in all of your poor spirit, broken-heartedness and grief. Yes you, after divorce, heartbreak and sickness. You have been called and chosen for such a time as this.

So what time is it?

It’s time for you to trust and believe that your quirks have purpose, your feistiness has purpose, your over-analyzing has purpose…everything that makes you who you are has purpose. Once you finally understand your purpose, you can begin to love who God created you to be and experience peace.

In Matthew 5, God blessed the poor in spirit, those who mourn, the meek, those who hunger for righteousness, the merciful, the pure in heart, the peacemakers and the persecuted. My friend, you fall into at least one of those categories so you are blessed!

Finding Peace in God’s Promises

James 1:12- Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

Nowadays there are numerous publications out there offering advice on how to live your best life. If you traveled to the bookstore lately or to your local library, you will find designated sections for “self-help” books. I have to admit that I am a book nerd. I love books, I love the feel of a hard-cover book and I get excited about flipping the pages and gaining access to new information. Although there’s a lot of good material out there, things can get a little confusing and overwhelming at times, especially for the Christian believer who is set on living a life that is pleasing to God.

Living your best Christian life is about believing and acting upon the promises that are taught in the Bible.

In the first chapter of the book of James, we’re giving a list of promises that should be used to guide us in our everyday living:

  1. The testing of your faith develops perseverance. Everyone experiences challenges at some point in time. I believe that difficulties come to equip us with the knowledge and necessity to help others. I’ve adopted the following motto for 2016: “Your 2015 testimony is someone else’s 2016 goal.”
  2. Perseverance must finish its work so that you will be mature, complete and lacking nothing. Have you ever heard the saying, “you don’t know what you don’t know?” If you’ve never had direct experience in a situation, you’re unfamiliar with the process and outcome. Test are giving to test your knowledge.
  3. God gives generously without finding fault. There’s no fault in God. Because of his love for you, God made sure to create a way of redemption for you. No matter what your past looks like, it doesn’t matter. Liberty has been giving to all those who believe in God and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
  4. A double-minded man will not receive anything from God. Its your choice, will you choose fear or faith? Decisiveness, clarity and focus on God’s truths are necessary for believing him. For every negative thought that you have, God has a promise and a truth to cancel it out.
  5. A man who preservers under trial is blessed. Trials help you gain humility.
  6. God cannot be tempted by evil. Everything in God is good.
  7. God does not tempt anyone.
My hope is that you find peace in God’s word and understand that His promises are the true and living word to help you along your journey. If you’re experiencing a challenge right now, give it to God. Allow him to work on your behalf. God is able to bless you beyond measure and provide clarity in your darkest times. The book of James is a life-changing, self-help book that provides strategies and real-life application for living a faith-filled life.
This is my prayer: No matter what test, trial, difficulty or crisis you may be experiencing, just know that God has promised to bless you in this time. As you go through situations, you are being blessed in the process. God is able to lift you, restore you and give you a bright future.
Find Peace and Be Well,
Suga

Quality Time

John-1-35-42b

John 1:35 The next day John was there again with two disciples. When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!”

Having the ability to identify your blessings comes from spending time in the Presence of God, seeking his face and praying his word. Some of our most sacred revelations are revealed when we spend time seeking truth.

In John 1:32, John testified that he saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on Jesus. He was told that whomever the spirit rested upon was the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.

Without revelation, a willing heart and undeniable faith, John would have missed his moment. That one space in time where everything aligned in his favored would have been lost. He would have missed his chance to lead others to Christ. John would have totally blown his moment to shine.

Have you ever missed out on something really important? Something that you had been waiting on and hoping for?

Spending time with God allowing Him to speak life into you and renewing your faith is essential to healthy, on-purpose living.  Are you allowing His word to saturate your mind and spirit by giving you renewed strength and purpose or are you trying to make it through this week off of last weeks word?

One of the first steps in finding peace is to find God and finding God is all about studying His word.

If you are reading this right now and have any doubt about God’s plan for your life, rest assured that you were created with love, purpose and intention. God has commanded his love toward you. Everyday he wants to reassure you of his love by sharing his word (the Bible) with you.
