Day 14: Find Someone To Thank

IMG-1832

Today’s challenge is to find someone to thank.

Think about your relationships. Is there anyone in particular that you miss having contact with. Is it time to pull out your pin and paper and compose a sweet note of adoration?

Handwritten notes go a long way. Get creative and bless someone with a hand written thank you note today!

Day 13: Remember How You Started

PoemHappy Monday Family. I pray all is well. I hope you had a wonderful Easter Weekend and I am believing great things for you today and everyday.

So of course we’re still going strong with our 30 Day Keeping My Peace During COVID-19 Challenge.  Today’s challenge is to remember how you started. When we first started the Stay At Home order, countless people were sharing the poem above but in the past few weeks the focus has shifted to anxiousness about extended time at home, unsettling feelings about not being able to visit the hair and nail salon and absolute depression over not being able to engage in social activities that do not involve logging in for a conference call or entering a pin number to participate in a Zoom Meeting.

Today I challenge you to return to the optimism of how you began this thing. Now is not the time to lose focus or to become careless because you want what you want.

Today I challenge you to #stayhome, #readbooks, #listen, #rest, #exercise, #mediate, and #create.

You can do it. I am rooting for you!

Peace.

DAY 12: Keep Shining!

Good Morning! It’s Saturday and we’re still standing. As we conclude another week of the Stay At Home Order, remember….it’s okay to celebrate what you’ve accomplished thus far. Let’s do a quick recap:

  1. You’ve become Superintendent, Principle and Teacher at your new homeschool academy.
  2. You’ve become the new Supervisor of HR at your remote work location.
  3. You’ve become Head Strategist of Sanitation at your home.
  4.  You’ve learned how to purchase and apply Personal Protection Equipment for times when leaving the house is necessary.
  5. You’ve learned how to memorize your shopping list and create a mental blueprint of where each item is located in the store.
  6. You’ve learned to budget accordingly, knowing the #Walmart is no longer accepting returns!
  7. You’ve become a personal trainer and nutritionist, making time for exercise and selecting foods that will boost your immune system.

My list could continue, but I’ll stop right there….

Today’s challenge…continue to be great, and if you want to have a Margarita…do so! (responsibly)

Day 11: Let Loose!

Happy Good Friday Y’all!

There’s a video circulating on Instagram that adds absolute joy to my life. I’ve watched this thing at least 10 times and each time I have a different revelation.

My simple challenge for you today is to Let Loose in your own unique way.

You can belt out a #WhitneyHouston melody like the mom in the video or you can simply howl along with the dog like #babygirl.

It doesn’t matter. It’s been 11 days since the official #NCStayAtHome order began and I think you are doing an amazing job taking care of your #mentalhealth. I hope you enjoy this video just as much as I do!

Peace!

Day 10:Just Breathe

I think that I’m all caught up now and on schedule with the 30 Day “Keeping My Peace During COVID – 19 Challenge. Day 10 is brought to you by my grandbaby. She loves the Puppy Dog Pals and Tula’s Yoga Song is one of her favorites. So just as the puppy says, breathe in, breathe out….while practicing #socialdistancing of course.

Focused breathing is a proven method to reduce anxiety, sharpen your memory and improve your heart health. It’s a simple tool that you can use throughout your day to help you keep your peace!

Day 9: Protect Yourself On Your Own Terms

When I first saw this Visor in my Swag Bag from #werkprayslay, I had no idea when I would ever have use for it. I’m not big into the latest trends anymore so I figured it would become another accessory on my closest shelf. Little did I know #coronavirus was on the way and this handy dandy visor is just what I need to feel comfortable. I know we’re all in this together and helping one another through this challenging time, but in all honesty we’re each having individual experiences as we go through this. Being a cancer survivor, I don’t want the additional risk associated with not taking extra precautions, and as #tabithabrown would say…that’s my business.
So today I challenge you to wear whatever personal protection equipment you feel necessary to protect your peace and manage your anxiety while doing your very best to reduce the possible risk of exposure.
This thing is new to all of us and unfortunately this is not practice, it’s on the job training. I see post on #socialmedia of people being shamed for wearing masks, helmets, plastic bags, etc…and I don’t find it amusing.
Do you!
Peace.

Day 6: Grant Yourself Some Grace

Day 6:

I hope this post finds you well. I intentionally took a few days off from posting to rest my mind. I’ll be sure to catch us up before the week ends.

Listen, whatever your role during this pandemic, remember to grant yourself some grace. Put some distance between reality and expectation and know that you are doing the best that you can in this situation.

If you’re working from home, your office hours aren’t going to look the same as they would if you were still going into the office. If you’re homeschooling your children, their school day will not look the same as a regular school day. It’s important for you to know that and to be easy with yourself.

I challenge you to accept the alternative and grant yourself some grace.

A little grace

Day 5: Make Time For Rest

20191231_094304

As I scrolled through my Photo Gallery trying to find a picture of me actually resting, there wasn’t one. I made it all the way back to December 2019 before I found this picture. It doesn’t illustrate rest, it illustrates exhaustion.

Yes, I know, there are so many resources available right now to help you become the certified, master of all trades guru, I get it. I almost clicked on the free photography course offered by Cannon ( I still might), but today…I will make REST a priority and I challenge you to do the same.

You need rest to stay well.

You need rest to think clearly.

You need rest to be available for your family.

Get some rest.
