Jeremiah 20:9 But if I say, “I will not mention him or speak anymore in his name, “his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in indeed, I cannot.

This gift you have given me, I cannot take for granted

Years of molding and shaping me, on fertile soil it was planted

Your whispers are sweet and fill my heart with inspiration

One mention of Your Holy name and I get motivation

Your Word is hidden so deep in my heart

My mind begins to wonder and my pencil will start

Dictating the thoughts that you bring to my mind.

Your love for me is genuine, so caring and so kind

Your boundary lines for me, mark out pleasant places

I share the message of your love and watch the faces

Of those who believe and those new to your word

The Good News of Jesus is the best news we’ve heard

I am proud to spread the message about you my dear Savior

I am humbled and blessed to walk in your favor

If I were unable to write of your ways,

My mind would ponder on how to fill my days

Lost without you would be my banner,

So thankful am I not live in this manner!

Amen~To God Be The Glory!

He’s Able

He’s Able

As the songstress began to sing…”Exceedingly, Abundantly, Above all, you can ask or think”…..I immediately began to weep. Those words only hold true for one and that is my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  As the remainder of the choir joined in, I was drawn to my feet as being lifted by angels. My hands started waving and my tears continued to flow. Not only was I ecstatic just to be in God’s presence, I felt especially loved and catered to. Last week was a really heavy week for me, seems like all kinds of trials and traps were just lurking around trying to lure me in. The more I worshipped God, the more I wept. The more I wept, the more I could feel His warm embrace, renewing my mind, repairing my heart and fellowshipping with my spirit! God is awesome!

As the choir continued…”According to the power that worketh through you and me; God is able to do just what he said he would do, He’s gonna fulfill every promise to you”…”Don’t give up on God, cause he won’t give up on you…He’s Able!”  The more they sang He’s Able, the more I shouted He’s Able!

In a suddenly moment, my tears stopped flowing and my peace was still. God gave me a peace that surpassed all that I could ever imagine. It was so surreal but so welcome. I wanted to hold on to that moment for as long as I could. As I heard the phrase “He’s Able” in two separate instances from the song at church, I knew this was God’s confirmation that I need to stop trying to figure out what he’s already worked out! I have a tendency to try and connect the dots and make all the pieces of a puzzle line up perfectly but God reminded me yet again that he works things out according to HIS power, not mine.

God said to me, “Melissa, if I can part the Red Sea on command…I can take care of you. If I can command the Sun to rise and set and the moon to appear, surely I can take care of you. If I can command a Shepard boy to defeat a giant with a slingshot and a rock, I can take care of you! Remember how Sampson defeated that army with the jawbone of a donkey, yeah that was my doing, so surely I can take care of you.

God reminds me that he does not have to construct some magnificent plan to work in my life, he can and will use those silly unexpected things!

Thank you Lord and thank you LeRoy Dean for calling me out of my isolation!

We Fall Down; But We Get Up!

This post is dedicated to my friend hodgepodge4thesoul. Check her out when you have a chance:

Much like you, this past month has been crazy for me also! The enemy has constantly tormented me with issue after issue after issue. I must admit, I got the wind knocked out of me for a moment. As I come to my
senses and recount the many promises and blessings that God has spoken over me, I can’t help but recite 1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. ( Let’s stop right there and praise God for his mercy, his goodness and most of all his grace!) Even when it appears that things are all messed up in our small little world, we have to remember to look up and keep our focus on God! God has it all covered, from the end to the beginning and back again, he’s been there, done that, finished his work and certified that “it is good!”

Everyone reading this post… know this and believe it: If you were not in the game, making a difference In the body of Christ, the enemy would not even give you a second thought! But you, with your “sound mind in Christ Jesus” need to stay on guard and prepare your mind for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed! (1 Peter 1:13)

With that said, it’s on! Psalm 51:10-12 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of my
salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me!

Prayer: My dearest Heavenly Father, with a bowed
head and humble heart, I enter into your Presence with thanksgiving! I am so
excited to be your daughter; I am so excited to study your word and so excited
to be one of your chosen people. Father, thank you for receiving me just as I
am, weary, worn and lost. Thank you! You are able to present me before yourself
and I gracious accept your help! I love you…In Jesus Name! AMEN!

Mentally Prepared

1 Peter 1:13 Therefore, with minds that are alert and sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming.

This year, The Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) falls on 10/08/2011, which is only 46 days away. The Day of Atonement is the holiest day of the year in the Jewish Culture and God has divinely appointed it as a day to atone for sin, for ALL his people.  In Leviticus 16:29 God established Yom Kippur as a holy day.

Here’s your window of opportunity. From studying scripture we recognize 40 as an important number in biblical history because of its frequency and its occurrence. With 40 being a product of  the number 5 which represents grace and the number 8 which represents revival and renewal, now is a perfect time to mentally prepare to atone for those sins that are keeping God’s word from being fulfilled in your life.I understand that you may not be Jewish, neither am I but I do recognize and celebrate those things that are important to God. Take the next six days to mentally prepare yourself, talk it over with God, ask him what he wants from you and how you can be used for his purpose. If God gives you peace about it, Got For It!  Scripture says, “God inhabits the praises of his people.” People, however you honor God, commit to it for 40 days.

Make a commitment to pray, fast, or anything else that will glorify the Lord.  God recognizes sacrifices that loosen the bonds of wickedness, undo heavy burdens, promote freedom and cause health to spring forth, just to name a few. If you cannot do it for the entire duration, make a point to do it sometime within the 40 day time frame. God understands we are not perfect but he loves it when we chase after his heart.

At the appointed time, you can expect to be completely delivered, completely established and well on your way to reaping a complete blessing from the Lord. Last year on Atonement Day 09/18/2010, I dedicated my wedding ceremony to God. In my mind, I saw it as chance to show God how grateful I am for his goodness in my life. It was my way of telling God, I believe in your covenant, I am tired of trying to figure things out for myself and I trust that you want what is best for me. As I approach my first wedding anniversary, I can’t say that everyday has been easy but I can say that everyday has been worth it and each day is blessed by God!

I pray that you find a way to celebrate God’s holy day this year and allow him to do a mighty work in your life!

A Life full of Blessings

Psalm 23:5-6 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love with follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

My Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your many blessings. As each day begins we thank you for new mercies and a fresh anointing. Father, we are so grateful to be pursued by your love and filled with your goodness each day. No matter what obstacles try to raise up against your word, we bring them under submission to your covenant. Lord, thank you for loving us even when we seem so unlovable. In Jesus Name. Amen!

He’s Marvelous!

God Has it all Covered

Hi family,

Thank you all for your comments and words of encouragement. I’ve been on a little spiritual retreat, resting in the promises and presence of the Lord! God is good and worthy to be praised! With that said, on to today’s devotional…

Exodus 3:14 “Then God said to Moses, I AM Who I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you.”

Revelation: 1:8 “I Am the Alpha and Omega, says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Today, we are looking at two scriptures from God’s word, one from the Old Testament and the other from the New Testament. In both, God makes a declaration of who he is. I Am Who I Am is God’s way of explaining to Moses and the Israelites, that whatever you need me to be in your life, I AM that! In the Hebrew language, this simple phrase means, I am an ever-present God, I am presently present and I am more than enough to satisfy your needs. If we dive deeper for clarification, in the book of Psalms God has said, I AM a present help in times of trouble, I Am your peace, I Am your shield, I Am your deliverer, I Am your healer and much more! Whatever need or challenge that we may face, it has not caught God by surprise and he is more than capable of handling the situation.

Our scripture from Revelation reveals the true essence of who God is. “I Am the Alpha and Omega, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” God is saying, I was there in the beginning and I will be there in the end! Nothing that we will ever face, will be too big for God to handle. By definition the word  means unlimited power and great influence! We serve a God who has unlimited power to demolish any stronghold that may try to take root in our life. Rest in the fact that God has it all covered and trust in his ability to take care of it instead of  you worrying about how you are going to take care of it.

My Prayer: Dear Lord, as we begin a new week, we ask you to do a mighty work in us. Lord, anything that trys to set itself up against your word, we call it under submission to the blood of Jesus. Your word is true and it is right. We trust you and have full confidence in your ability to work on our behalf. Thank you for being a present help in our time of need and thank you so much for giving us your peace that surpasses anything that we will ever understand! We love you today and always, In Jesus Name! Amen!

What is SUGA?

SUGA pronounced (sugar without the r) is a mindset. Suga has become the way that I govern my life and everything that I tackle. Every speech, short story, narrative, newsletter, program, flyer or original poem that I create is empowered by SUGA!

Years ago when I submitted to God’s calling in my life, he began coaching me by saying; “I am able!” I would say Lord, but I don’t have any money and he would say; “I am able!” I would say Lord; but I am a single mother and I’ve made some bad choices and he would say; “I am able!” For every excuse that I made for not finishing college or not accepting an opportunity or not completing a task he would say; “I am able!’ One day I replied back by saying, “Simply Understand God is Able?” And He said “exactly!”

From that moment forward, I made a personal decision to put a little SUGA in my life. Messed up finances…put a little SUGA on it! Bad Choices..put a little SUGA on it! Temptation and sin…put a little SUGA on it! If you make a decision to put a little SUGA in your life…it will go a long way!

SUGA is “Simply Understand God is Able!” Whatever obstacles you may face or any issue that may try to hinder the word of God in your life, simply understand God is able to fix it!

SUGA reminds me that I once was the women at the well, listening to the Lord tell me about myself and my misdeeds (John 4). SUGA reminds me that I once was that women caught in sin with nowhere left to turn but to Him (John 8) and SUGA reminds me that just like the lame man by the pool (John 5) I once was weak and felt that I had no way of getting help!

After SUGA, I once was blind but now I see! If you hold on to HIS promises just as I have, He will get you through it! He turned my single status to married, my dropout status to degreed and my messed up finances to doing just fine! Thank you Lord!

Enjoy your weekend and remember to put a little SUGA on it!

Much Love,

Mrs. Misenheimer

My Foundation

Proverbs 24: 3-4 (NIV) 3 By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.

The Webster’s dictionary definition of the word house as a verb is: to provide with or take shelter.

As children of God, individually we are temples that hold God’s Holy Spirit. Out of His undying love, God pursued us in an attempt to have communication and fellowship with us. This was not done because he was lonely; it was done because He is love!

By yielding to God’s advances, we gain unlimited benefits such as: being filled with His Holy Spirit that provides comfort in our times of need, we are covered by the blood of Christ that promises we are healed in our times of sickness and we are guaranteed eternal life in Heaven in the Presence of an almighty God, which says there will be no more sorrow and no more tears!

From where I stand, these benefits sound like rare and beautiful treasures.

God, I say thank you! Thank you for never leaving me to my own understanding of you. In Jesus Name, Amen!

Much Love,

Mrs. Misenheimer
